Thanks for your input! I agree that maybe I'm being a tad ambitious, but always aim high. Hell, Ican't even get stick figures right. Just as long as I don't have to draw anything. A twenty second animation of a figue doing something extremely simple like sitting down then standing up again or the likes, because honestly, I believe the actual artwork side of things is going to be the hardest part.īut if all that works out then I'd be willing to help throw ideas around. If we (the members wanting to take part) do decide to give it a try, I think we should start with something bit simpler as a bit of a practice run first.

It's a great idea, though I personally think that going for a full on anime series, complete with full voice acting, folly, music and such is a tad ambitious to start with.

Anything you think I might have missed, please let me know, and go and spread the word! I'd love to hear any ideas or suggestions for any of the points above, and if you have anything else to add then feel free to do so. I know this won't be easy and I know we may well end up cancelling it part way through, but if we made it work it'd be amazing. I won't go into too much detail at the moment, because it might violate board rules. This is something that won't come up unless something comes of this, but if it does we need to work out a way of spreading awareness of this project and what we've done. The animation may well be an insurmountable hurdle, but we can at least give it a go if nothing else. I'm cautiously optimistic about this, but if you know anyone on this forum who might be able to help but doesn't know about this, please let me know and I'll try to contact them.

If anyone has any knowledge or prior dealings with any type of animation software I'd really appreciate it if you could share with us your thoughts and feelings on how this works. Animation software doesn't tend to be cheap, and usually takes a lot of experience to get right. As of right now, I can't actually see a way around this, but I'd love to hear your suggestions.Īnother really big hurdle. What is important is that we are able to make the voice acting realistic and high quality. Sure, we'd have to work out why all these varied accents are together, but that isn't a major thing. As I'm now at university (as of yesterday), I can probably borrow the sound booth in the music department if I ask nicely and bribe them with cookies, but I want this to be a group project: I want all of you guys in on this and contributing.
Voice acting is by no means easy, and to do it properly you need a sound booth and good quality software. There's no point having a beautifully crafted world and engaging characters if they sound off. Whether we go looking for someone who actually does this, professionally or otherwise, to help or whether we work on it between us, this needs to be sorted. If we are to include dialogue we need a good quality script. If we don't absolutely nail this down, the result will be poor at best. Who are the major characters? What is the world itself like? How long are we intending this to run for? These are all questions that will get ironed out very early in development, but I would want an assurance that everyone was on the same page before we started. Probably the easiest of these problems, to start something like this we need to know exactly where we're going with it. This goes doubly true considering everyone is scattered about the world, meaning that there will be times when people who need to work together have conflicting schedules. To create this, we need to look at several issues:Īt the moment, the only way any of us have to communicate is via threads like this and PM, but if we were to pursue this we would likely need to be able to talk to each other in a more reliable format.
Ok, so this was raised in the RWBY discussion thread and was originally supposed to be simply a thought exercise, but then I thought 'Why not?'īasically could we, the citizens of GitP, create a decent quality anime between us? It would be a significant challenge for us all, and I'm under no illusion that this will probably amount to nothing, but if we could make it work, think how awesome it would be!
